Privacy Policy
Short version: the test runs in your browser, your answers and any images never leave your device, and we use no ads or tracking. The only thing we count is an anonymous result statistic that cannot be linked to you.
Who we are
Detect Color Blindness (detectcolorblindness.com) provides a free, educational colour-vision screening tool.
Test data stays on your device
The colour blind test and the simulator run entirely in your browser (client-side). Your plate answers are scored locally and are not sent to or stored on our servers. In the simulator, uploaded images and camera frames are processed on your device and are never uploaded.
No analytics or tracking
We do not use advertising trackers or third-party tracking scripts. We do not build a profile of you or follow you across the web. The only measurement we do is the anonymous result statistic described below.
Anonymous result statistics
When you complete the full test, we count the result in an anonymous, aggregate statistic. Each count contains only the top-level result category (for example normal, red-green or blue-yellow), a country-level location, your device type (mobile or desktop), and the hour it happened. It never includes your individual plate answers. We store no IP address, set no cookies, and attach no identifier of any kind, so no count can be linked to you or to any other person. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we do not count your result at all.
Cookies
We do not set tracking cookies. The site works without cookies at all; any browser storage is limited to what your browser needs to display the page.
Advertising & affiliate links
This site currently carries no ads and no affiliate links. If that ever changes, we'll update this policy and label such links clearly.
Your rights (GDPR)
We operate from the EU and aim to comply with the GDPR. Because the test collects no personal data and sets no tracking cookies, there is normally nothing personal for us to hold about your use of the tool. If we introduce any feature that processes personal data in future, we'll update this policy and provide a way to exercise your access, correction, erasure and consent-withdrawal rights.
Children
The kids' test is intended to be used by a child together with a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy; the "last reviewed" date at the top reflects the latest version.
